    Purdue University Institute for Plant Sciences is looking for a self-motivated, energetic PostDoc to join the AgAlumni Seed Phenotyping Facility.

The candidate is expected to focus on establishing in-depth understanding of the configuration and operation of the X-ray CT root scanner system in Purdue’s Ag Alumni Seed Phenotyping Facility (AAPF), and to develop optimal operation protocols and procedures that enable efficient, consistent, and safe operation of the Xray-CT system. The candidate is also expected to take advantage of machine learning methods to implement and fine-tune algorithms for segmentation of root of multiple species in various potting media, and to establish a matrix of traits to facilitate the quantification and assessment of root system architecture.  The candidate is also expected to document the operational processes of the Xray CT imaging system and established Xray-CT image processing pipelines in the form of standard operation procedures.
