The goal of this NIFA-funded research is to accelerate development and deployment of more nitrogen- and water-efficient rice varieties. The candidate will work validating genetic targets identified among candidates associated with adaptation of diverse rice landraces to water and nutrient-limited environments. Candidates with a research focus on high-throughput plant phenotyping and rice/cereal genomics/phenomics are strongly encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates would be with PhD degree in Plant Physiology, Plant Genetics, Plant Molecular Biology, Agricultural and Biological Engineering, and or other related disciplines. We are seeking candidates with demonstrated skills in scientific writing, publications, communication and time management. The project will involve working at the Lorence Laboratory in Jonesboro, AR and an internship at Avalo in Durham NC. Salary is commensurate with candidate’s experience and A-State provides competitive fringe benefits. We are seeking a to fill this position in early 2024.
