“HIPHEN is organizing jointly with Arvalis and INRAe, embodied respectively by Benoit De Solan & Frederic Baret, the CAPTE workshop from May 11th to May 13th.

CAPTE is a joint research unit located in Avignon, France is composed of 3 main members which are INRAe, ARVALIS and HIPHEN. With CAPTE, our goal is to develop systems and methods to characterize efficiently crop conditions, state, and functioning, for agricultural applications. As a result, we have published over 40 scientific papers in the last decade to share our research with the community.

The CAPTE workshop is an event aiming at celebrating the achievements in the developments of plant phenotyping tools and methods during the last 10 years, and foster discussions on the next steps of plant phenotyping research under field conditions. The Workshop focuses on high-throughput plant phenotyping mostly dedicated to great crops, to access key structural, morphological, biochemical, sanitary, and functional traits.

The event will take place at Avignon University, France, in the center of the old city. Plenary sessions will be organized, on the 11th and 12th of May 2022, to cover the state traits (structural, morphological, biochemical, sanitary), also the dynamics and functional traits and some use cases. The workshop will focus on great crops including wheat, maize, sunflower, and sugar beet which received most attention.
