Dear NAPPN Community Members,
The NAPPN committee for Equity, Inclusivity, and Diversity (EID) is excited to announce the launching of the inaugural 60-day Better Listening Challenge! Motivated by the 21-Day Better Listening Challenge<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https*3A*2F*2F21dayequitychallenge.com*2F21-day-better-listening-challenge*2F&data=05*7C01*7Cjennifer.lachowiec*40montana.edu*7C737ba60f61ed46fddeb008da5e93b5e8*7C324aa97a03a644fc91e43846fbced113*7C0*7C0*7C637926286811947508*7CUnknown*7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0*3D*7C2000*7C*7C*7C&sdata=3u6gmuohc*2FdeTC9kMMHTeXwFhx*2F2ziDf7WtG0iTigyE*3D&reserved=0__;JSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSU!!PvXuogZ4sRB2p-tU!A6JW2qZJ-8PvZmGBHZreNX306PaPWUVsawx7wHWJ3nUfMNo5836LMDO8TJds9B44qTQfVdJqlysaHEukAiVrABPtyr5d-OQ$> and #ListenMoore, this challenge will develop skills and awareness of how to listen to other “selves” and value and appreciate each other for just being who we are. This Challenge will commence on July 8th and conclude on September 5th, 2022.
How does this work? Here are the basics:
* Engage in a listening challenge activity at least once every few days during the course of the challenge. Ideas for challenge activities are posted on the NAPPN EID website<https://www.plantphenotyping.org/eid-challenges>.
* You don’t need to sign up and you can join at any time. However, if you do sign up through the website during the first week of the challenge and provide your mailing address, we will send you an EID sticker to celebrate your participation! All you need to do to qualify for a sticker is tweet at least once during the challenge about a challenge activity that you completed using the hashtag #diversityNAPPN
* The EID Committee members will be sending daily tweets to keep the team motivated.
If this Equity Challenge is a success, the committee plans to offer a series of such challenges on different topics relevant to EID in the coming months.
Thanks in advance for your participation and support for EID within the plant phenotyping community!
Sincerely,
NAPPN EID Committee
