Hi NAPPN colleagues,

I wanted to let you know that the Agricultural Genome to Phenome Initiative (AG2PI; https://ag2pi.org) will be hosting a workshop at the tri-societies meeting in early November! (https://www.acsmeetings.org) Early bird registration deadline is October 1.

This workshop is scheduled for Sunday, November 7th from 9am-noon. We will focus on collecting ideas around AG2PI and priorities for research that we can communicate with USDA. This will help us advocate for an increase in the appropriation of the 40M authorized in the Farm Bill for USDA-supported AG2PI research.

Content to be covered: an overview of the USDA Agricultural Genome to Phenome Initiative (AG2PI), highlights from studies of agricultural genome to phenome research across animal and plant kingdoms, socio-economic considerations for agricultural genome to phenome, and a discussion of shared challenges and their possible solutions. We will communicate on seed grants including the third and final round planned for Spring 2022.

See https://www.acsmeetings.org/workshops#USDA for additional workshop information.

If you plan to attend the conference, I’d love to have you involved!! And please share with your colleagues and students and encourage them to attend!

Thank you!

Jennifer
