NAPPN Board elections coming up
At the beginning of each year, NAPPN holds elections for its Executive Board. The Board is made up of representatives from both public and industry organizations and represent the fields of plant biology, computational science and engineering. The 2021 board was elected last year, so the upcoming election will be for 2022 board members. Elections will be held in January of this coming year.
- The current board is made up of: Chris Topp (Chair), Jennifer Clark (Co-Chair), David Ertl, Frank Dohleman, Tabare Abadie, Amy Tabb, and Andrew Leakey.
- Next year's board will be composed of: Jennifer Clark (Chair), Tabare Abadie, Amy Tabb, Christine Morgan, Malia Gehan, Kelly Gillespie and Argelia Lorence.
- The 2022 board will have openings for one industry, one academic engineering and academic computational position.
If you represent one of these groups, please consider serving on the NAPPN board and help guide this discipline forward.

Refer to our by-laws http://nappn.plant-phenotyping.org/bylaws/ for more information on the voting process and be on the lookout for information regarding the nomination and election process in your email coming soon.

           Announcing a new NAPPN Award
For the past two years, NAPPN has awarded the Plant Phenotyping Early Career Award to scientists who have demonstrated excellence in the field of phenomics. In addition to this award, this year we are excited to announce a second award, the NAPPN Plant Phenotyping Graduate Student Award, to recognize a graduate student who is making important contributions to plant phenotyping in areas of data analytics, engineering, modeling, physiology, plant breeding, plant sciences, remote sensing, or allied related disciplines.

A separate email will be forthcoming proving information on how to apply in the near future.

Learn about AG2P1
In case you missed it, last week the USDA-NIFA project named the Agricultural Genome To Phenome Initiative (AG2PI) was officially launched. A webinar laid out the plans for this initiative and invited researchers interested in genome to phenome research to take part.
