Dear All,
I am writing to invite you to help build a community of people interested
in the development of open software, data, and methods to support the use
of UAVs in research on agricultural crops.
*Join the Mailing List <https://forms.gle/c6QFisTZv9h4AuNM7> to receive
future emails*
- and forward to interested colleagues!
This is the first effort of the "Data and Software for Field Phenomics"
affinity group within the North American Plant Phenotyping Network (NAPPN
<http://nappn.plant-phenotyping.org/>).
*Scope*
The initial focus of this group is on the use of drones in plot based
research in agronomy and plant breeding. By starting with a clear focus on
software to process and publish field phenomics data to plot level
phenotypes, I hope to enable closer collaboration around scientific
software for drone based agricultural research.
While the group will include applications to other field phenomics
platforms, our initial focus on drones is based on the broad use of this
technology and organizing current efforts in software development.
*Three upcoming webinars of interest:*
Three webinars in this scope are upcoming:
Two from The Plant Phenome Journal
<https://acsess.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/25782703> this summer that
fit exactly the scope I envision (open source software + drone data
analysis for plot based research)
