Executive Board are now open!*
We are currently opening elections to vote for seven inaugural members of
the Executive Board. To start the election process, please submit up to two

*About the Executive Board*
The NAPPN Executive Board is an elected body that fosters relationships
among individuals and organizations involved in plant phenomics research
and development as well as between individuals and other partners such as
funding agencies, growers organizations, industry partners, and governments
at all levels. This is accomplished through executing on decisions made by
the General Assembly, managing daily affairs, and preparing annual reports
(including procedures, budgets, and managing personnel.)
Seats on the NAPPN are decided by election. This year the seven individuals
are up for election, four academic and three members from industry. This
elected Executive Board will replace the current NAPPN *ad hoc* Board:
April Carroll (AeroFarms)
Jennifer Clarke (University of Nebraska)
Noah Fahlgren (Donald Danforth Plant Science Center)
Malia Gehan (Donald Danforth Plant Science Center)
Carolyn Lawrence-Dill (Iowa State University)
Argelia Lorence (Arkansas State University)
Mitch Tuinstra (Purdue University)
*About the Organization *
NAPPN is currently made up of 488 individual members from 185
organizations. For a description of the network’s provisional governance
and bylaws as well as to join NAPPN as a Member, visit http://nappn.plant-

Vision: the field of phenomics will become so advanced that the tools that
would enable researchers to analyze and quantify phenotypic data become
turn-key, thus enabling plant biologists to treat phenotypic prediction as
a routine component of plant biological investigation and development.
Mission: NAPPN seeks to achieve this vision by
- Accelerating the visibility and impact of advanced plant phenotyping
research
- Maximizing existing synergies, identify and reduce potential
bottlenecks, and facilitate collaboration spanning disciplines, locations
and facilities across the region and beyond
- Incentivizing mutually beneficial research between public and private
sectors
- Promoting a framework for data standards that facilitate data access
and sharing
- Increasing the visibility and impact of plant phenotyping as a tool to
enable plant sciences research beyond its own current research community
- Facilitating the interdisciplinary training needed for effective
basic and translational plant phenotyping research
Values: The NAPPN involves diverse stakeholders including, but not limited
to, researchers, developers, and consumers of phenotyping technologies
across all organizational dimensions. To do so, the organization relies on
and encourages open communication and welcomes all perspectives
irrespective of stature.
