I observed the same thing during the iPlant-USDA workshop that ends yesterday.

Recent jobs have failed to send a 'RUNNING' callback status.
They skip from 'QUEUED' to 'CLEANING_UP'
The jobs themselves run as expected, just that the status reporting is flawed. example: 0001429620583760-5056a550b8-0001-007
